Transtar Speed Primer & Activator High Build 9474 & 9487 (Quart/ Half Pint)
Signature Series Speed Primer is a premium, 2K urethane primer surfacer that covers in as little as two coats and air dries in 30 minutes under ideal conditions! This easy-to-sand primer surfacer can be applied directly to metal, provides excellent gloss holdout and is highly resistant to film shrinkage. Save 30-40% on your entire labor process time.
Mix Ratio:
4:1:1 - 4 parts primer to 1 part activator to 1 part reducer
Pot Life: 2 - 3 hours @ 70°F (21°C) and 50% R.H.
Reducer
:
Zero VOC Urethane Grade Reducer (TDS601) or Urethane Grade Reducer (TDS600).
Note: Using regular Urethane Grade Reducer (TDS600) will increase VOCs.
HVLP/LVLP:
1.4 - 1.8 mm 2 - 3 medium wet coats
5 - 10 minute flash
1.5 - 2.0 mils per coat (dry film thickness, based on spray equipment and technique)

Dry to Sand Times:
<60°F (15°C)
60-70°F (15-21°C)
70-80 °F (21-26°C)
80-100°F (26-38°C)
140°F (60°C) (force dry)
60 minutes
45 minutes
30 minutes
25 minutes
15 minutes
Critical recoat time is 48 hours.
After 48 hours, it must be sanded.
Sanding:
DA (Dry): #220, finish #320-400
Hand (Wet): #400, finish #500-600
