Fourth edition. Scarce. Illustrated with frontis portrait of author and b&w photos. Original, Blue, decorative cloth, hardcover with bumping and fraying to head and tail of spine and corners. Some scuffing to top edge of front cover. Gilt still bright on spine and front cover. Some pencil and former owners name in pencil on front pastedown and ffep. Textblock starting to separate between front free end paper and front blank page. Else pages are clean. A scarce narrative of Fisher's life as a minister and chaplain in the Fifth Kansas Cavalry. Fisher bore witness to Quantrill's raid and many of the events that occurred in "Bloody Kansas" during the Civil War in America.
