Description
This is Reports of the Committee on the Conduct of the War: Fort Pillow Massacre Returned Prisoners. This is the US Senate report on the Fort Pillow massacre. It was published May 5th, 1864 in an edition of 20,000 copies. It features 162 pages of interviews with former soldiers, some of whom are black. I don't see many Confederates interviewed but there might be a few included. It's an engrossing portrait the matter. There are portraits of soldiers in the back that show the effects of starvation. The back cover of this book is marked U.S. Government Bindery. It's in good condition but does have several lightly worn spots, one is on the front cover at the bottom and is noticeable in the photograph. It is toned but there isn't any actual wear to the cover. The top and bottom of the cover at the spine have a slight edge wear but nothing fragile. There are two names written in the free endpaper. The pages have a very slight wave in them, I think it has more to do with the thickness of the paper than any sort of age issue. Also, some of the pages have some foxed spots, but overall for it's age the book is in very good condition. Feel free to ask questions, no international shipping.
