was a captain From Ohio who was captured 2 days before the battle of Shiloh, and held in confederate prisons; he escaped and was later recaptured. He was arraigned before Gen. Jackson, Bragg, Hardee, Beauregard, and Johnston. Includes- sufferings of the captives, arguments on slavery, "a negro prayer", a horrid dinner, classes in the Confederacy,Jefferson Davis' coffin,  and so much more. An exciting and informative book you won't want to put down!

dryer sheets in them for a few months makes a world of difference!
some of my books get sold right away so
please consider using this trick before deciding to return it!
My nose doesn't work like it use to
so the old book smell doesn't bother me.
