Penny Miner copper Penny Sorter Machine Business. I ran this as a side hobby/ business between 2011-2013 where I sold these machines “Penny Miners” and “Penny Hoarders” which allowed people to sort pre 1982 Copper cents from Zinc cents.(1982-current) more efficiently.It was an idea I had after figuring there were aprox. 243 copper cents per pound while copper at the time was high at over lb. With prices on copper and alternative materials for making the coin in the excess of Face Value it had a lot of people wondering if there might be a lift on the melt ban in the future. People are still hoarding and buying up copper cents. The copper % in circulation has slowly declined with these coins becoming less common as time goes on. I purchased myself a sorter, then two... and realized I was going to need more machines for the amount of coin I was obtaining and sought to decrease my machine expense. I was sorting coins and building machines at a furious pace...It was becoming a bit too much and to keep an inventory of “coin” became difficult when it came time to purchase a home. The business essentially closed when it got boxed up and never got up and running again. I have everything someone might need to sort some serious coin and take this over.
