    A supplement to Albaugh's earlier book,
    "Confederate Faces"
    , this volume adds new identified photographic likenesses of persons connected with the Confederate cause. Each illustration is of an original photo of the person both officers & enlisted men with identification where known in text underneath the photo. In addition whatever further information is known about any of the photos is added in an appendix at the rear of the book. The book is divided into three categories:
    Chapter 1 depicts members of Southern States volunteer militia from 1855,
    Chapter 2 depicts the transition of these same militia or their counterparts to the war period, &
    Chapter 3 covers the veterans who survived the entire war. Many fought on for the next 15 years to remove the yoke of Reconstruction from their states.
